Friday Finds: Great Travel Posts

I’ve gathered up some good reading to get you through the Friday afternoon slump. Ready? Let’s check it out…

→ Wanderlust

Thrillist can be pretty bro-ey sometimes, but they have been putting out some good travel writing this month. Skip Europe: The world’s greatest destination cities Americans overlook.

Oh, and here is a post by yours truly on my other blog celebrating the great outdoors… Playing Favorites: Anza Borrego #ParkPride. By the way, there is a discount link and coupon code in that post!

→ Wish I Knew:

When our Air France flight from Paris to Madrid was cancelled last June, we had enough money to just buy two easyJet tickets and sort out the refund with Air France later. What if this had happened on our way back from somewhere much farther, like Lima or Japan? I’ve started to take travel insurance more seriously. Here is a great post by Glo on The Blog Abroad on the topic.

→ Budget Style:

I thought my hostel days were behind me, but when I found out about Generator Hostels via Design Milk, all bets were off. Now I’m strongly considering some of Generator’s locations for my next trip across the Atlantic. The stylish Stockholm location (really, check that Design Milk article) has me swooning.

→ Longer Reads:

Backcountry, a site where we regularly get Doug hiking gear (get $10 off your first purchase if you use that link), has been posting some really great multi-part narratives. I particularly liked this one from last November about hunting for snow in Chile during North American summer. The current series that just got started is about my favorite home state of California. They’re going to hit up some awesome and iconic regions, so follow along. Ah #TravelWritingGoals…

Did you read anything this week that stuck with you? Gimme the link in the comments!
