StayPineapple at Hotel Rose Review

Approximately a 3 minute read

Approaching Hotel Rose, you know you are getting into something special. The exterior is fresh and exciting, and the neon “Hotel Rose” sign by the lobby door sets the stage for a quirky, fresh experience. Each interaction with the front desk (check in, questions, check out) was met with cheerful professionalism. Read on of a full Staypineapple at Hotel Rose review.

Hotel Rose

Location

The location was excellent, our north-facing room had a downtown and river view. The hotel is a block or less from the Yamhill  and Morrison/SW 3rd MAX lines. It was nice to see the water but be steps away from downtown.

Rooms

My room was on the 4th floor. The bed was insanely comfortable, with an unconventional style of bed-making, Scandinavian double duvets. I really liked this individualized approach to bedding since my husband is a foot taller than me and always kicks off the blankets. Everything was immaculately clean, and there were quirky details in the room like pillows, pineapple mugs, and a cute husky mascot toy.

Water bottles were provided each day for free, which was a nice touch. The in-room coffee was good quality (although I dislike K-Cup machines, I understand why they are good in hotels). The bathroom was fairly standard with attractive tile and Tommy Bahama soaps and lotions, which smelled good and were on-brand with the pineapple motif.

The burgundy bed skirt seemed off-brand with the “pineapple” details, but on-brand with the “rose” of Hotel Rose. I will point out that a note from the management announced a floor-by-floor remodel coming to the hotel, so the look of the room may soon be changing. I’ll just have to come back soon and update my review!

Other Amenities

A coffee cart parked in the lobby sells delicious coffees to go during the morning rush. The barista was friendly and the coffee was high quality, although it was a brand I didn’t recognize.

Staypineapple hotels are dog-friendly, evidenced by their adorable husky mascot. Booking the “pineapple pup package” gives you treats, a water bowl, dog bags, and a dog bed for use during your stay.

The hotel restaurant was pleasantly busy; the menu looked good. We did not dine there, though. Find a list of places to eat and drink in Portland here.
